The set that started it
The First Chapter is Lorcana's 2023 debut — 204 numbered cards plus the Enchanted chase run (numbers 205-216), and the set every Lorcana collection eventually comes back to. First-print product carries a premium over reprints, and condition sensitivity is high: dark borders show whitening fast.
What to chase
The Enchanted rarity is the entire top of the market — full-art, foil-only versions of twelve characters, pulled at extreme odds. Elsa - Spirit of Winter and Stitch - Carefree Surfer lead the ladder in our recorded-sale data. Below Enchanteds, Legendary characters with marquee names (Elsa, Mickey, Maleficent) hold value best.
What to know before buying or grading
Enchanteds only exist in foil, so foil curl matters — store flat, sleeve immediately. Centering runs loose in this set; a visually clean card is not automatically a grading candidate. Check our chase ladder above for what the market actually pays before submitting anything.
