Nothing Brich House publishes — articles, market commentary, comps discussion, grader guidance, emails, or anything a staff member says — is financial or investment advice. We talk about what cards are worth because owners need that literacy to protect themselves, not because collectibles are a way to build wealth. We never recommend buying a card as an investment, and if you see language anywhere on this site that reads otherwise, we consider that a bug — please tell us.

Insurance

Brich House is not an insurance company, agent, or broker, and we do not sell, quote, underwrite, or bind coverage. We also never take possession of your property, so nothing of yours is ever covered by any policy of ours. A value shown on the Desk or in a holdings statement marked to market is an informational estimate — it is not an appraisal and is not sufficient on its own to schedule an item with an insurer. If you need a collection insured, speak with a licensed insurance professional.

Grading outcomes

PSA, BGS, and CGC decide grades — not us, and we do not submit cards on anyone's behalf. Our published guidance on which grader suits a card is honest current opinion based on observed market behaviour, clearly caveated where consensus is unsettled. It is never a guarantee of any grade or outcome.

Tax

Buying and selling collectibles can have tax consequences. Any cost-basis or unrealized-gain figures are a convenience for your own record-keeping, not a tax document, and we are not tax advisors. Nothing here is tax advice — talk to a professional about your situation.

Condition work

We never crack, soak, press, trim, clean, alter, or restore cards, and we disclose every condition observation we make at intake. If a card arrives to us showing evidence of prior alteration, we document it and tell you — and where marketplace or grader rules require, we disclose it onward too.
