Tokenized collectibles
Some platforms sell a digital token backed by a physical card held in a vault. Each token is a claim on one card, which the holder can sell back for cash or redeem for the card itself. The record that matters is whether the claims and the shelf stay in sync.
The week on chain · 11 to 17 Oct 2026 (UTC)
What two public chains recorded
Both platforms record every pack, buy-back and redemption on a public blockchain. We read those records ourselves and counted them. These are the measured figures for one week, read on 18 Oct 2026.
01
Collector Crypt
On Solana · 11 to 17 Oct 2026
Vault
Its own vault, plus cards held at Fanatics Collect and PSA
as Collector Crypt states; no independent count published
- Packs opened
192,742
Every pack opened in the week, 11 to 17 Oct 2026.
- Sold straight back
97.7%
188,247 packs sold back to the platform for cash, half of them within 7 seconds of opening.
- Share of spend returned
90.3%24-hour sample
Measured 17 Oct 15:57 to 18 Oct 15:57 UTC: $6.34M paid back on $7.02M spent across 21,245 packs. The full-week value needs an archive data source; the free public nodes keep only about a day of transaction detail.
- Cards redeemed
1,613
Cards whose tokens were burned so the physical card could ship out of the vault, 11 to 17 Oct 2026.
Counts include every storefront that settles through Collector Crypt’s gacha wallet: its own site, Jupiter’s gacha and other partners. Its machines on other chains are not included.
02
Courtyard
On Polygon · 11 to 17 Oct 2026
Vault
Brink’s
as Courtyard states; no independent count published
- Packs opened
160,590
Packs paid from a wallet, 59.6% of the 269,548 packs bought in the week. The rest were card-paid checkouts.
- Sold straight back
90.0%
144,607 cards sold back to the platform for cash, half of them within 21 seconds of opening.
- Share of spend returned
72.0%
$5.79M paid back on $8.04M spent on these packs, wallet-paid packs only.
- Cards redeemed
Not confirmed
Courtyard burns redeemed tokens itself and publishes no redemption record, so redemptions cannot be told apart on chain. A second Courtyard wallet took in cards from holders and burned 26,679 in the week. That fits redemptions but is not documented, so it is an upper bound, not a count.
The 72.0% covers wallet-paid packs only, about 60% of purchases. Card-paid checkouts are not priced on chain, so they are left out of every ratio, and card buyers may behave differently. Courtyard’s own “90%” refers to its buy-back rate on a card’s value, not on the pack price.
Method
How we measured it
We read the transactions from free public nodes, with no keys, accounts or paid services, for the seven full days 11 to 17 Oct 2026 (UTC). Each pack is matched to its own buy-back, if it has one, so spend and returns always cover the same packs. Buy-backs are followed up to the time of the run.
Collector Crypt tags every step of a pack with a memo that carries the pack’s own ID: opened, card sent, sold back. We count the packs opened in the week from those memos, then follow each ID to its buy-back and read the cash paid from the platform’s payment wallet. A redemption is a card burned in a transaction co-signed by Collector Crypt’s shipping key.
Courtyard emits an event when a pack is bought from a wallet, carrying the pack price, and mints the pulled card to the buyer in the same transaction. A buy-back is a trade on Courtyard’s exchange in which its operations wallet is the buyer. We match each card from the week’s packs to its first buy-back.
Only the platforms’ own programs, contracts and treasury wallets are used. No individual wallet is shown or stored.

Against published figures
- Collector Crypt, spend returned. Our 24-hour sample gives 90.3% following each pack to its own buy-back, and 94.3% counting all payouts against all spend in the same hours. Bitquery (94.2%, Dec 2025 to Jul 2026) and a public Dune dashboard (92.3%) use the second basis; Blockworks (90.7% through 13 Jun 2026) sits with the first. They agree.
- Collector Crypt, sold back. Pine Analytics reports over 95% of opened cards sold back within 24 hours. We count 97.7% of packs sold back. Consistent.
- Courtyard, the gap. A public Dune dashboard puts Courtyard’s keep at 11.75%, about 88% returned; we measure 72.0%. The difference is method. A dashboard that sets every buy-back in a period against the spend it can see on chain misses the card-paid spend: in our week Courtyard paid $12.91M for 255,198 buy-backs while only $11.75M of spend was visible on chain. Our figure covers only packs whose price is recorded.
- Courtyard, buy-back volume. A third-party Dune study (13 Oct 2026) counted about 273,000 buy-backs worth $13.4M a week. We count 255,198 worth $12.91M in our week. Consistent.
The record that is missing
The chains show every claim. None of them shows the shelf.
Every token minted, sold back and burned is on the public record. The cards are not. No platform publishes an independent count proving that its vault holds each card its tokens claim, so the link between a token and its card rests on the platform’s own word.
Figures from public chain data, 11 to 17 Oct 2026 (UTC), read 18 Oct 2026. Vault holders are as each platform states. We describe what the chains record; we do not forecast it. Corrections are welcome at hello@brich.house. Not investment advice.
